Formed in 2003 and based at Avondale Leisure Centre, Stockport Boccia Club exists to promote the Paralymic Sport of Boccia.  It enables our members play, train and compete in national and international competitions.  Our national organisations are Boccia England and then Boccia Great Britain.
Our club plays the paralympic version of the sport and therefore our playing members all physically impaired within classifications BC1-BC6.  At present all our playing members are wheelchair users. We also have supporter members some of who help run the club, coach players, and fundraise.
Previous club members have competed at the Paralympic Games and many have been or are regular members of the Boccia England Squad.  All our players show commitment to improving in the sport of Boccia, using tactical skill to prove that physical strength does not always mean everything.
The Club needs to fundraise in order to cover, at a minimum, venue hire and replacement of some of our equipment.  We are also attempting to find additional income to help our members attend competitions and to receive specialist coaching, (see our fundraising page).
